Harvest Day 24 ✨

Cannabis plants, like people, can grow stronger healing from trauma than before being hurt.

When the cola (the main flower) of a cannabis plant is taken off, the plant focuses its remaining energy on growing the other colas.

Amazed by nature.

Patience is a virtue across the board and certainly when it comes to curing cannabis. Curing is a slow delicate process that may take weeks to complete. What may seem like a hassle to begin can turn harsh buds into smooth and delicious smoke.

Prolonged curing leads to the degradation of byproducts produced by the drying process, such as sugars. These molecules leave a particularly harsh and unpleasant taste in the mouth. Curing eliminated these compounds, leaving behind a clean smooth smoke.

Curing preserves desirable flavonoids- flavors, and terpenes- molecules that give cannabis strains their intense and unique taste and subtleties. In high heat these volatile compounds can easily degrade. A gentle dry followed by a slow cure is the way we sustain tasty buds.

Taste isn’t the only thing- a good cure can greatly enhance the shelf life of a harvest and reduce mold potential. When cured and stored properly, buds could last for a year or longer without any decline in potency or taste.
